The Miraculous Healing Powers Of Turmeric and Why We Should Consume It Every Day!

Spices have played an integral role on planet earth for thousands of years. Both as medicine and to add flavor to food. One spice in particular stands out for me, and that is turmeric, a plant rhizome that is often dried, ground and used as a cooking spice, has also been used medicinally for several thousand years. Curcumin, the phytochemical that gives turmeric its golden color, is responsible for most of the therapeutic effects of turmeric. Many researchers are investigating turmeric in cancer therapy, and the results are very positive.

Spices possess exceptionally therapeutic and medicinal properties which have been known for centuries amongst some cultures such as the people of India, where spcies such as Turmeric, Cardamon, Ginger, Pepper, Coriander, Cumin, Cinnamon, Star Anise and Fennel, have featured as a "main stay" in their diet for thousands of years. As a result of this practice it perhaps not surprising that there is a very low incidence of cancer in this country. However, like so much of the modern world, there has been a steady movement towards convenience foods {takeaways and fastfood} and highly processed and refined foods including GMO food. This has arisen in direct proportion to the migration pattern from farms and villages to the cities. Where manual labor has been exchanged for sedentary work and has only added to the rise of illnesses, including Mental Health, Obesity, Strokes, Diabetes and Mortality. And was particularly prevalent in the big cities, whereas, the small towns and villages still retained their more traditional values, of which food always plays a very important role. I've seen this first hand while I was living in Japan over 20-years-ago now {which is a country who has some of the oldest living people on the planet, many of who are still leading active lifestyles such as the world reknown female Ama Pearl Divers  and also their male counterparts in Japan and Korea, who continue to dive up until there 70 and 80th year}.

It is the Asian countries where turmeric is consumed in the highest quantities but in addition their diets are also more balanced and foods are selected from a wider range of crops including the daily use of herbs and spices. Many of the foods are very astringent, something we Westerners are not very familiar with. As we tend to shy away from the bitterness associated with these bitter foods such as Arugula, which is a leafy green vegetable and from the brassicacae family. And is particularly helpful in stimulating the liver to produce bile and promotes detoxification.

Personally, I use turmeric every day. From first thing in the morning as part of my detox regime {a 300ml glass of hot water with a couple of pinches of organic turmeric powder, ginger powder, 1tsp of ghee and a squeeze of lemon juice}. Then I make a 1.9 liter thermos flask of organic green tea, fennel seed, ginger and a few pinches of turmeric. Which I then drink from throughout the day and it helps aid with digestion.

Lastly another option is to consider a new organic supplement on the market called puraTHRIVE a liposomal turmeric extract and they even have an incredible new Vit B12 liposomal product on the market as well.

To conclude, I only put my name behind those products and companies who have the utmost concern and care for your health and welfare. And it's not until I've thoroughly researched the product then I'm willing to promote and endorse it.

Thank you onoce again for your time and attention. It means a lot to me that you should choose to read my words and I hope it may be of benefit to you and/or someone you know.

Wishing you abundant health, wealth, peace, love and happiness......

With love

How To Reduce And Prevent Acid Reflux Without Medicine!

I was Personal Training my 75-year-old client the other day, I've been training him for about 7-years now. He is a retired sheep and cattle farmer and not without his health issues. However, he has made significant in-roads towards improving his general health. He's lost weight, increased muscle mass, improved his balance, flexibility, strength and cardiovascular fitness. We've even managed to eliminate his medications, adjust his diet a little and improve hydration. BUT, he still experiences periodic episodes of Acid Reflux. As was the case last week, which prompted me into creating this blog. As I realize that many people suffer from this issue and worse still, many if not most rely on medications which only serve to mask the symptoms. Thus more often than not creating a "crutch" that is relied upon rather than addressing the underlying cause. Which is an over acidic chemistry, usually as a result of dehydration and the consumption of overly acidic foods from the Deadly Nightshade Family  {i.e. Tomatoes, Eggplant, Tamarind} or Dark Chocolate, Coffee and an over- consumption of Sugar, deep fried Fast Food {cooked in Canola Oil}and Carbonated and Soda water beverages which are acidic.

How do you prevent Acid Reflux from occurring and mitigate the need for prescription drugs? Harvard Health has a good article on this very subject and I recommend that you read it. However, in addition, I would like to add some tips that I hope you find beneficial. These tips, I learned from years in competing as a sportsman, but also from my study and in particular, it was through my study of Ayurveda that I gained the most benefit. Such as;

  1. How to understand your Dosha and what foods to include in your diet and/or avoid
  2. How to combine foods such as Coriander and Coconut Cream with spicy meals such as curries and chilies and thus mitigate the acidity. For example coconut fat with coffee also helps to reduce the acidity, increase the nutrient level, improve your immunity, and even enhance the flavor. Also, the spice Turmeric has many anti-inflammatory properties and is also very medicinal. In addition, fermented foods such as Miso and Yoghurt create heat. Yes, even though they may be organic and healthy, the byproduct of fermentation is heat. This can be mitigated though by moderating how much you consume and being aware of seasonal variances. For example, I'm a Pitta Dosha {which means I'm a little like the sun...hot and fiery, and have a robust digestion but am also prone to inflammatory diseases caused by heat
  3. Ensure that you are hydrated because no matter what you do to improve your diet and lifestyle if you're not hydrated nothing will work. Because water/H2o is the very cornerstone of your health and well-being. So much so that every single chemical action and reaction such as Respiration and Perspiration are heavily reliant on water. As is your blood viscosity which gets thicker and more viscose with increasing dehydration. Not surprisingly, this viscose {thickend} blood puts a strain on your blood vessels and heart, resulting in elevated Blood Pressure and an increased chance of heart attack or stroke. All of which are completely preventable.
  4. Some of you may tell me, but, if I drink water on its own I get reflux! Don't worry, my dear PT client has also told me this and it's very common. The trick is to make sure that the water you drink is not acidic or carbonated and also to ensure that the temperature is "luke-warm" or warm as opposed to chilled {most drinks from the fridge or a chiller .are kept at only around 5 degrees Celsius. Now, compare this with your body temperature of approx 37.5 degrees Celsius. That's a whopping 32.5 degrees Celsius differential. Is it any wonder your body rebels a little. And besides, if you've been depriving your body of water it's going to take a little time for it to rebalance, recalibrate and regain its equilibrium {Homeostasis}.
  5. All Pharmalogical Medications create heat. I'll repeat myself. ALL Pharmalogical Medications including Immunizations create heat. And heat creates inflammation, irritability, and damage to all tissues and cells this includes your organs. And can result in bleeding, ulcers and a chain reaction of disastrous complications. Which left unchecked may require medical intervention.
  6. Alcohol consumption can also contribute to Acid Reflux. Some alcohol is carbonated and this in itself will increase acidification. And that which isn't carbonated is still alcohol and alcohol is fermented and so creates heat. Thus, an overconsumption of alcohol not surprisingly creates heat. Which can be clearly seen in those who over-imbibe and become intoxicated, think of it as "rocket fuel" and this is why people often become angry.
  7. Lastly, being in a state of anger and animosity is also very destructive for the individual concerned but also the recipient. And no positive outcome can ever be reached if engaging in war. Both figuratively and literally {for how many eons now has man been engaged in war, and has it ever solved any issues? No, it has created more problems, death, destruction, loss of life and heartache}.
To conclude, thank you for your time and I credit you on your initiative to take control of your health and welfare. For knowledge and understanding are very powerful tools to be embraced and shared with others including our partners, family, friends, community, country and globally as well. Which is what I'm doing. For health is so precious and like that old adage, "you don't know what you've got till it's gone."

My warmest wishes & love

How To Maximise Your Blood Levels Of Oxygen - Slow Down Aging - Reduce Disease And Gain A New Lease On Life!

Sounds "too good to be true" doesn't it! And, like they say, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is."

But, wait! What if I told you that this is no "fairy tail," or some "pie in the sky" fanciful theory or idea. Rather, what I am conveying to you is this.......YES, you can maximize your blood levels of oxygen, slow down aging, reduce disease, and most definitely gain a new lease on life. In fact, I'll even go one step further, you do not have to be a "rocket scientist" or an "Einstein" to understand and appreciate the fundamentals either because it's Rule #101 of Biochemistry. Yes, I'm serious about this, so please listen up and you'll learn enough information in this brief blog of mine to create a para- dime shift in your perception and understanding of Biological Health and how our body desperately tries every day, despite all the abuse we subject it to obtain and maintain Homeostasis. For example  here's a brief overview of what we're subjecting our bodies to every day;
  1. An over-reliance on "over the counter" prescription drugs - because we're told we need them, even though we don't. You might think you do because you've been told so, but I'm sorry, I'll still beg to differ, for the simple fact, that I care about people, their health and the health of the planet. Yes, I'm guilty of caring, of loving life and good health. Should I apologize for this?
  2. Living in a very acidic world where we are virtually drowning in toxic chemicals from the air that we breathe to the glue in our carpets {formaldehyde}, to the plastic in our brand new vehicles, and our budget priced mainstream home cleaning products like "spray and wipe" and antiseptic soap dispensers {which I might add, the really staunch bacteria love because they are forced to mutate into "superbugs" or be obliterated off the planet. I know which I'd choose to be, so you really can't blame them for choosing "pro-life" can you. For the law of the universe is this, "only the strong survive."
  3. We're so all consumed in our working lives, that we don't know when to "switch off" or even, "how to" switch off our minds and give this incredibly brilliant organ a chance to "chill out" and relax, because we keep plying our bodies with more coffee and caffeine, alcohol, party drugs and mindless TV and/or Video games until late at night. Is it any wonder we can't sleep and more and more of us are suffering from insomnia.
  4. We're so stressed, that we don't even remember to drink water when we first wake up in the morning, instead, many choose to grab a cup or plunger of coffee {not the greatest beverage for hydrating our cells is it}. Or simply not drinking at all and when they do drink it's another coffee or a flavored soda drink. This is leading to an epidemic of people who are chronically dehydrated  and highly acidic with illnesses that are completely preventable and curable if they're caught in time to turn around the dis-ease.
  5. Do you ever notice when you're really stressed that you sometimes hold you breathe, that's right, many of us, periodically and subconsciously hold our breath without realizing it, this causes low-level hypoxia {low blood levels of oxygen}, and results in an increase in carbon dioxide in our blood and tissues? Causing an overly acidic chemistry to develop in our body.
So, what is the answer? Well, there are many answers, but the first thing we need to urgently address is our overly hectic lifestyle and working conditions. Look around you, everyone is sick and on some kind of prescription medication or using other legal and illegal drugs as an opiate to distract themselves from this chaotic world swirling around us.

Another option in conjunction with creating a more balanced lifestyle is to try a new product on the market called Nutri02 which is pure oxygen and may be just the "pickup" and "lift" you need to help facilitate more healthy living, especially you are experiencing Chronic fatigue Syndrome or  So, check it out and see if it's a good fit for you. I've chosen to be be an affiliate with Nutri02 simply because I feel that it is a product which is safe, and potentially of immense benefit to many people.

Okay, It's time for me to leave Solar Cafe now, { one of my offices where I work from}. Why? Because Chris Lambert {the owner of Solar Cafe}, Dave { a Scotsman, the head barista and keen marathon runner} and the team really look after me and they serve DKD, Organic Coffee {I get a supersize triple shot coffee in a bowl}, and provide a wonderful friendly service. Tonight, it's Friday night and that means it's Salsa night{dancing night}, and so I've moved to another table away from the dance floor so that I can finish off this blog. And then, go home and make dinner.

Whatever you're up to for the coming weekend I wish you a wonderful time and may you come back from the weekend energized, revitalized, with a twinkle in your eye and a bounce in your step ready to embrace the coming week. Remember, "life is short" and you never know when your number is up, so make the most of life and love like you've never loved before.

Yours in abundant health, wealth, peace, love and happiness
